Other than the GPS (and loss of built-in flash), is there any performance difference between the K3 and K3II?
(IBIS) The K3II is one stop better than K3 on Stabilization... .

LOL, good point... but Cessna's aren't all that fast moving. I'll usually be doing about 120-140 knots (138-160 MPH), which I think most GPS units should be able to track... theoretically. LOL

I'm watching that Adorama package. How much could I get for selling that flash that comes with it? The AF540GZ I have is probably better to keep and continue using than that one, so that may be the way to go and save a little more by selling off the new flash....

This is one of the reasons why, if a monster ate my K-5 right now, I'd go for the K-3 over the K3-II. I don't need the GPS, I don't need pixel shift, but I use my internal flash so often for family snapshots that losing it would be a problem.

That being said, if you're documenting things for fire department work, having the GPS tag in your EXIFs may be of importance if legal **** goes down. I'm a pathologist, and while that generally doesn't mean I don't go out in the field, if I were a medical examiner and taking photos of dead people on site, I could justify a trade-up to the K3-II at once.

Pulled the trigger on the K3 w/ the 50 lens! I'll probably list up the K10D for sale, but will probably keep the other lenses for now.

That's a good idea - 18-200 as a two-lens set is pretty versatile, especially with the AF prime thrown in for low-light work, and it at least keeps you from having to cough up immediately for glass when your finances have just taken a hit from buying the new camera. You can think about which focal lengths you use the most and where prospective lens money is best spent.

Hmm.... mentioned possibly selling my K10D once my K3 arrives; however, I just came across IR conversions! I had looked at that years back and forgot about it, but now that I have a spare body I may eventually send that off to get some IR love once my pocketbook recovers. Any thoughts on that? K3 for normal photography, and an IR converted K10D for IR photos...
