hi Jeff, Sell Kim the K5ii. He now has my Sigma 17-50. They need to be reunited Seriously, it's a good match considering the near silent shutter of the K5 family (vs the K30, K50) and the HSM of the Sigma. Very good for event photography.

Is be happy to, it's a great camera!

Kim,

Congratulations on your new camera. I own a K-30 too (though its now on loan). I always try to keep the settings the same as much as possible with the 16 MP K cameras. One setting on the menu I always do is to make it remember its last place in the when the menu button is pressed. You can probably turn off the AF light assist on the K5ii (it's pretty good in the dark).

So what else are you planning to buy. Can I talk you into some non Pentax mirror-less ?

K-5IIs, yeah I'd like one of those, might look for one at some stage.

K-5iis > k-5ii > k-5

Old reviews for the original k-5 may have come out with higher scores than the later refreshes, but that wouldn't be totally unexpected (rivals had switched to 18->24mp sensors at the time, and the k-3 had been a little delayed by the Ricoh takeover). The k-5iis is a very good camera.
