That is aproxx 60! I'd love a 500mm for 60...

As you know, you can't compare US and European prices, because you have to add VAT and duties and ofcourse the importer wants to earn something on top etc...

The Bigma or the older Sigma 170-500 (the new 150-500 is not available in PAF yet, as far as I know) may be your choices. The 170-500 has reportedly good IQ, perhaps not quite up to the 50-500, but good enough for many purposes. I can't tell from my own experience, as I only use fixed focal length lenses for extreme tele shots. The choices are limited but existent.
