Reviews of new DFA lenses

Looking at the review of the new DFA lenses in the database. I'm astonished that there are only 5 reviews of the DFA150-450 and no review of the DFA24-70. What happens? No one owns those new lenses? Not interested in new full frame glass?

I was very interested in the D-FA 24-70mm but the price at the moment is just a bit too much. I have just bought a lightly used Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 HSM for 1/4 of the cost.
I do plan to get the new D-FA lens once its come down under £1k here in the UK. I like the look of the silent and quick AF (based on the Tamron version) and decent sharpness throughout, along with WR as a bonus too.

The low numbers are due to the 150-450 is quite expensive and the 24-70 is very new, and probably will be of most interest to the FF camera user.

Maybe everybody's waiting to review the lenses on a K-1!

There are a couple of threads on this forum showing pictures taken with early adopters of the 24-70. Rondec in particular has been quite active with his.

Been using the 24-70 for a month now on my K-3 & K-3II and really like it. It resists flare & CA very well, has great colors and a fast & accurate focus - definitely a improvement over the DA* SDM. The only weak point is the lack of wide angle on ASP-C, but carrying a DA15 in my pocket takes care of that. I've gotten used to the large diameter and actually prefer the size because of the way it handles compared to my 16-85. It's become my main lens on the K-3II. As a side note, I got this lens mainly because it's constant F 2.8 & better SDM rather than the future FF, which I have no plans for or at least until I out grow my K-3's which will probably be awhile.

Here are some pictures from Sunday morning I'd posted elsewhere:

On one of our Dutch forums we have two owners of the 150-40mm lenses and both are producing great images.

I may write a review. I had a thread with photos in it https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/306371-new-...70-f2-8-a.html.

The problem right now is that my wife was shooting a wedding with it and set her camera down with it on and it fell and and damaged the lens so it is "in the shop" right now.

I've compared images from the DFA150-450 and Tamron 150-600, the problem is I'm still not convinced by the DFA150-450.

Yeah, the full length reviews won't start pouring in until the FF is out. But we've already taken a good look at both lenses:

Maybe that is because the K-1 is not out yet, and most people may prefer a 16-50-ish range on APS-C.

There are some reviews on places like ePhotoZine. Google is your friend.

https://www.ephotozine.com/article/pentax-hd-pentax-d-fa--70-200mm-f-2-8-ed-dc-aw-review-27358

https://www.ephotozine.com/article/pentax-hd-pentax-d-fa-150-450mm-f-4-5-5-6...w-review-27359

The 24-70mm is basically a Tamron updated with new coatings, or so we think. There are more reviews of that lens than are craters on the moon. Here's one from ePhotoZine.

https://www.ephotozine.com/article/tamron-sp-24-70mm-f-2-8-vc-usd-lens-review-19056

Make sure you pay attention to the camera body used when looking for reviews of 24-70mm. Some will be FF and others will be APS. This changes the definition of "edge" and "border".

Anyone else wondering what ephotozine is reviewing? The 70-200 is not available yet and the review is out for months (April). An indicator for lots of hot air with no uptate on the delayed delivery. Is this a marketing channel or are we looking at real tests.
