How are the prices of used bodies?

My K20D is dying Getting some issues with the shutter...
Looking on ebay (I'm from Europe) I can't fine anything under 400€ thats a bit high for an old body.
They are a lot cheaper in the US but you need to add shipping + TAX...

Are there any shops in the UK or Germany with used Pentax bodys or where should I look for the K5/K5II ?

I've had bad luck trying to find a K-5IIs in the USA. The cheapest new old stock that I have seen goes for $560 USD on eBay.

New Pentax K 5 IIS Digital SLR Camera Body Only Brand New 027075220737 | eBay

^ They usually they go for more than that new or a used version sells for about $500. My problem is that these were going for $450 brand new at B&H not too long ago, so I refuse to pay more than $300 used or $450 new. Basically at the rate I'm going, I'm never going to get one. The K-3 will happen more than likely in my future.

I don't know how the market in the UK & Germany are doing, but if the USA market is any indication of the K-5IIs, chances are that you will see similar results as well.

That is my perspective as well. I believe if you bought the K5IIS a year ago at close out prices you would not have lost money if selling it today, even with some use on it, and you might actually have made a little. It is rare in the camera world for this to occur. Just get the K3 - many upgrades over even the K5 series cameras.

^ Indeed! I don't know why the K-5/K-5II/K-5IIs series suddenly costs an arm & a leg. Nostalgia?

You know what's funny, the K-5II sells for even more here in the USA. About +-$800 USD for new old stock. It's ridiculous.

The K5IIs is worth that price in my opinion. It is the best Pentax I have ever owned, has no problems, great AF and I love the IQ over my old K5 original. If you have owned a K5 original, there is also no learning curve with the K5IIs.......just start shooting!

Regards!

Your best bet is to get a K-01 from ebay from Roberts camera. I am not their spokes person but they have some for sale. ANd K-01 is a K-5/K-5ii sensor and gives the exact same image quality that K-5/K-5ii does. Infact I was so impressed by the IQ that I wonder how this body got sabotaged and for what reason.

I just bought one from Roberts Camera about 6 weeks ago. I'm reselling it now on eBay. The image quality is great. It's just not my cup of tea.

The K5/K5II are models that put Pentax back in the game. They were the models that bested the CaNikon counterparts. IMO, they are still better than K3/K3II.

You and me. I'm glad I got mine. However, I would let it go for $1,000.00 US. Any takers. lol

I switched k10 to k5 and couldn't be more happy.
Also I had a Fuji some time ago with EVF but optical wiefinder is much better IMHO, so i passed mirrorless, at least for now.
