I'm getting an off-color (almost under exposed) band through some of my images taken with the FA 50mm 1.4, not sure whats causing it... Anyone experience this?

More than likely. Fluorescent lights and sodium vapor lights are about the worst kind of lights to photography with.

Yes. Use a lower shutter speed than 1/50th second to let them disappear :-)

1/50sec apply to places where the ac frequency is 50 hertz. In North America, where the ac frequency is 60 hertz, you can go up to 1/60sec.
