I did. Working well so far. If you think you'll stay with the brand, you could get a used K50 body, have your fun, and then upgrade to something like that KS2 or K3 later. All the lenses would still work.

thank wife has me one for xmas with 18/55 and 50/200 wr lenses
i use a fz150 at the mo so lots foe new things to do with the k50

K-50 is the only dslr I've ever owned or used. It was down to that or a nikon body, and I can't stand nikon ergonomics. After a year and 2 months of shooting, I can say that I'm quite satisfied with it. I frequently take it out on the kayak with me, shoot in sub-zero temperatures in winter, and drag it around all over the place with me. I bought mine when it was still over $499 for the basic body+18/55 kit, at the current pricing I'd say there's probably no better bargain on the market.

a good starter for a dslr system. . I would recommend a bridge camera for a beginner.

when you want to go from a bridge camera, then it is a good option especially with the wr and bright primes you can shoot with.
under 500 with a few lenses is a good deal too.
