I'd go with the 16-45mm. I have one and love it. It is a wonderfully sharp lens and is affordable.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for all these inputs. It seems like a 16-45 or a 12-24 seem to be 2 good options.

I'd get a CP filter for the kit lens first - It may be all you need.

Remember, a superwide lens may be convenient, but will result in potentially really odd perspective in your photos. This may occasionally be desirable, but I think you're going to want a more "normal" range like the kit lens or something a bit faster.

Between the DA 16-45 f/4 and the previously reccommended by another poster Tamron 17-50/2.8, I'd go for the Tammy. The Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5 is also an excellent general purpose lens.

Yes I concur the 17-70 sigma is a great all rounder
