By using DNG Recover Edges, you can slightly expand the number of pixels of your image by recovering all of the pixels hidden at the picture edge. You will en up with a larger image by using DNG...

Of course, by making use of Adobe DNG Converter, the same is achieved for PEFs.

Let me share the result of trying this out:

10 pixels added at upper/bottom borders
(0.34% x 0.64% gain -- making a 200mm tele a 199mm wide angle equivalent )

The attachments show Image 1/2, i.e., a 100% crop from the left border, resp.

The strange blurry look comes from air turbulence due to the distance: this is a scene hundreds of meters away from a car accident on a German highway. You can lookup the location and can easily compute the exact distance from the EXIF and the known size of a car

Adobe DNG converter 3.5 doesn't recognise the PEF's from my K10D

Adobe DNG converter 4.4.1 is current and recognizes all PEFs, incl. K20D firmware 1.01.
