My K20 took a mud splattering at a mud rally a few years ago.

Taken while panning with the DA 50-200mm F4-5.6ED at 50mm 1/100sec F4.5 ISO320 Continuous AF. I was close.

Body still works fine EXCEPT the AE-L button has become a bit sticky at times and initiates image lock choices when zooming in and out when reviewing images. Non WR lens also took some cleaning but I had a hood on and dipped the camera lens down when the drops started falling.

As Albert said it took ages to fully clean up with mud getting into the cavity under the pop up flash housing and so on. And this was very gritty mud. My jeans still bear the stains.

Hmmm... are your lens elements still aligned?
