My first steps with K20D

dear Pentaxians,

yesterday it has happened to me too - I became a Pentaxian. I bought my K20D in Prague together with a SMC PENTAX-DA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 ED AL (IF) - is it really one lens only?
I decided to take this ultrazoom having very good experience with my D80+Nikkor 18-200.
Pentax 18-250 is a little bit (much more) noisy but so far a VERY good lens, and surprisingly sharp.

As for K20D: this is a masterpiece! I am VERY impressed with this camera. (Previously I was shooting with Olympus 2100UZ, Canon 350D and Nikon D80).

The more I am shooting with K20D (two days only) the more I am wondering at various reviews on reputable photography servers. Before buying my K20D I did a deep search. I thought this camera has to bee good. Nevertheless to the last moment I was a little bit doubtful about it.

Anyway - now I am very happy with my choice.

Here are my first shots:

Still I am struggling with tons of new features and options.

On my Nikon D80 I have to set EV compensation from -0,3 to -0,7 to get for me satisfactory results.

On my K20D I decided for now to use correction of +0,3 EV.

Have a nice day!

Very nice pics to go with a very nice choice in equipment!

A word about the 18 to 250. Is it a super great end all lens? No.
Is it a great multipurpose, walk around and not have to carry a bunch of other lenses? Heck Yes!!

Welcome to the site!!

thank you for reactions.

As for my decision for 18-250: we live with a dog and a cat and a LOT OF HAIR. I would like to change my lenses as little as possible.

But later - yes. Later I am considering a 50-135, maybe 35 macro.
