Remove grip for battery?

I bought a grip for my K3ii and I like it a lot with it. Obviously with grip on I can't access the camera's battery compartment. So how does it work? If I want to change the battery on the camera I need to remove the grip, or the battery on the grip keeps the camera's battery fully charged and I just need to change the grip's battery?

Set the camera to use the battery in the grip first and then you can pretty much change out the grip battery and the body battery is there just as a safety measure.

I like your second way of using the grip battery to keep the camera battery topped up; but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. You have to remove the grip to change the camera battery.

MikeSF's idea is a good approach that approximates the idea of the grip battery topping up the camera battery. His posting happened while I was typing my initial response.

I have the Grip Priority and recharge it all the time but every so often when recharging I'll take the grip off and Cycle the body battery into the grip and put the recharged grip battery into the Body just to keep all active.

Yep, that's *exactly* how I do it too. Every month or two, the grip comes off, the battery comes out of the camera and is replaced with a freshly charged battery. The one I took out then gets charged and goes in the grip. Seems like a good way to ensure fairly even charge / discharge cycles.

This is exactly what I do, it minimizes need to change out the body battery when you are out shooting.
