K10D/K20D replacement grip image gallery

Hi,

after I got my K20D with the new replacement grip, I thought I should provide a few images. Also included: images of the old grip sent back to me. So, here we go...

Enjoy

So, how's it feel? That's one thing I've liked about the Sony A700, how deep it is. And what was the cost (other than shipping)?

Pentax Germany offers it as a replacement service (50€ mail-in). They normally keep the grip. I asked to get it back. So I guess, you won't find another picture of the old grip

Also note how it makes my K20D look like a K10D (white SR logo)

The feel is great. However, it will all depend on the length of your middle finger. If its tip doesn't touch the body part with the old grip you may not like the new one, actually.

It'd be great if they made a left-handed body too..
It's not like film where a lot of mechanics might need changing.. all it would really need is some casing and maybe a little electronics change..

The grip is fine but I'm much more interested in that Fifty. Do you have any images from that lens?

Peter, no ... I only got this lens in order to dress my K20D pretty when I take images of it

Ok, well. So here is an image for You. Hand selected to be at f/1.4 and completely unprocessed (LR default settings). Taken hand-held at ISO800 1/60s.

Makes a good product shot lens and dresses the K20D up very nicely. Added bonus is it appears to be a very good lens as well.

BTW, how well does a wireless remote work with the new grip. The sensor seems quite recessed in there. Too bad you couldn't change the part yourself and not have to send the camera away.

Yes, I noticed as well. But didn't try it out. I guess infrared would be bounced into the hole by reflections and no real difference is to be expected. To be seen, though.

I hope that spiders don't hide in there, too. And bite my finger

Do you sent your camera all the way to German, or they just send the new grip for you to fix it yourself ?

Since he is in Germany, it's not such a long way, Germany is tiny.
