I think that's why most of us are considering the K-1 along with a K-3. SO it provides a different FoV for the lenses we have, rather than a 100 % upgrade with all new lenses.

My 35-80 is a fine lens, my Sigma 70 macro and Tamron 90 macro, two of the best lenses I own are both K-1 compatible, and my A-400 is as well. I'm not considering any longer lenses or probably any lenses I don't already want for my K-3.

I have a K-5. So, will I buy the K-3 or the K-1? Easy - I'll keep the K-5 as a back-up and get the K-1.

I don't have to say I don't have the money for a K-1. My lovely wife who is the controller of the currency, says it for me. She is still the best thing to happen to me for the past 48 years.

I was leaning to the K1 but for later in the Spring or mid Summer........when my K5IIs crashed and was badly damaged it forced an early decision.

I see no reason I will regret the purchase, I hope to get my K5IIs repaired as a 2nd camera, if repairable. 16MP is plenty for me, so the crop factor ability made a lot of sense for my use. Like two cameras in one!

Regards!

I actually have a k5IIs and a k3 and will of course take the k1 as soon I will have the money - and hope to keep the other two (as I have many full frame lenses - from 50 1.4 and 100 2.8 macro Pentax ,15 2,8 Sigma , 70 Macro sigma , 28-135 Sigma , 70-200 DG OS sigma and the old but actually good 170-500 Sigma) and a whole bunch of old manual lenses .
