OK, given what we know, how many will buy a K-1?

Given what we know to date, how many are thinking there is a K-1 in their future?

Aren't there already several threads on this? Or are those threads for pre-orders only?

Anyway I have been saving for almost 2 years for this. Spent some on a k-3II along the way but still enough in the camera fund.

Mine is pre-ordered. Not sure if that counts as 'future' but considering delivery is a ways out I guess so.

I'm in. The only question is when. My initial thought had been "When my K-5 dies", and that will certainly be an absolute tipping point for buying it... but given the much-lower-than-expected price, I may move that forward.

This one is a poll. So go back and vote.

I guess it posts the question before I'm done the poll, silly software. I have to think about these questions you know/

You guys are just way too enthusiastic.
Wait until I'm done asking the questions for griefs sake.

No choice for 'I want the K-1 so I'll get the K-1 but I spent my PayPal balance on all the good stuff everyone else is selling to get the money to buy a K-1', so "Yes, but later."

[EDIT] But I chose the one with keeping my K-3.

I have a K-5 IIs, KS2, K01, k20d, K10d and I'll upgrade to a K-1 next upgrade, but keeping my APS-c gear. -- You didn't give this option :-)

I'm finding that explaining the difference between FF and APS-C to the Minister of Finances (wifey) and the resulting obvious obligation to own a K-1...appears to be less than convincing. The Minister of Finances is erroneously contending that there are more important things on which to spend our meager pentance.

LOL. Just remember that not everybody who gets a K-1 is going to ditch all their APS-C gear just because they're moving to full-frame (excluding of course those who need to ditch their APS-C gear in order to pay for the damn thing).

I love PayPal credit.
6 month no pay no interest.
I pay it off a week or so before I have to.
Great way to buy things.

Also, no need to trade in one system for another.
I've been using FF glass on my Pentaxes for ages, no need to change now.

Hopefully the APS-C line will become the video platform for Pentax as a means to keep it alive.
I will be ok with that.

Mine is split, but I picked one to vote for anyway:

Picked this one: I have option 1 or 2 and I''l upgrade to a K-1 instead of a K-3 4 57.14%
And may do this one too: I have option1 or (missing the 2, can a poll be edited?) and I'll upgrade to a K-3

I have a K-30, K-5iis as primary cameras. I'll consider a K-1 as the price comes down (whenever that is) and eventually probably dump the K-30 for a K-3 upgrade for distance.

I'm curious to see long-lens results compared between the K-1 and K-3 once the FF is in many hands. My guess is that the APS-C sensor at 24mp will have higher IQ with distant subjects than the K-1 imaged cropped down. But who knows? I'm often wrong.

You have a K-5IIs so option 4 is the best fit.

It's looking like they are going to sell a boat load of K-1s , just from the preliminary results, only 1 of 15 not planning to buy a K-1.

I tried to pre-order using my Amazon credit card points and gift card, but you can't use points on a pre-order, so I guess I'll have to wait until it's officially released. Either way, I do plan to get the K-1 at some point, but I will definitely be keeping my K-3 as a backup/wildlife shooting camera.

I'm selling my K-r to help finance and if I get the K-1, I'll be selling the K-30 as well.

You're like me, except my equipment fund was wiped out by repair costs after I dropped my DA*60-250. I thought i was getting ready, but I'm back to zero.
