I can think of all the options needed. But the 300 option limit on polls might be a problem...
I'd make sure to include my option:
I have a K-50 and would love a K-1 but don't have the money for it, actually I'd love a K-3 but I don't have the money for that either. Actually, scratch that, I'd like some better lenses but I don't even have the money for that.
What I'm getting from this is, "You're 14 years old dude." When i was your age I didn't have my own camera. I was borrowing my dad's, for when i could get time off from building the pyramids.

Well hopefully my 10-17 FE and 40 XS will cure my want of new lenses for a couple days at least

As long as my tax refund stays whole and isn't needed for any contingency I will be an early adopter of the K-1. My APS-C gear, especially the K-3, will remain in use to get the 'crop' I need for birdies and wildlife.

Opted for #6, to express my unchanged commitment to the APS-C format, although I could have equally well picked #3, since I'm perfectly happy with what I'm getting from my K-3.

I tend to skip model generations between body upgrades, not only out of budget considerations, but also for the thrill of major rather than incremental improvements. Instead, I try to invest more in meaningful glass, and in shooting what I have.

I have a DA300 , I use it with the TC. I like the image quality of the DA300 without TC. With TC, image quality is not so great to my taste. So, I would like to have a sharp 400mm on apsc but Ricoh does not have it. Canon have it but it is not IS. Beyond the Canon 400mm f5.6, it's getting really expensive and heavy. I also considered the DA560 but I'm not impressed with the image quality at this price, it does not seem to be good value for me, the DA560 is almost the price of a Canon 500 f4 that I saw recently in a shop but the Canon is faster and better optically. Then considering the zooms: DFA150-450, no more reach than my DA300+TC, and no much sharper... and the DFA is heavier, so I stay with the DA300 TC combo that I already have. I also considered the Sigma 150-600 S, which I suppose would be a little sharper than the DFA150-450 but still not as good as a prime on apsc body, but... if I mounted a Siggy 150-600 S on a ff body, 600mm f6.3 would be like 400mm f4.5 on my K-3... so that would meet my goal, and the sigma 150-600 is not as expensive as a long prime, but then the Sigma 150-600 is not available in K mount (on a K-1 for example). So, I'm stuck. I recently had a look a the price of fluorite telescope such as Borg + field flatener + T mount... which in essence would deliver a better IQ than the DA560, similar reach, but cheaper and manual focus... I can only conclude that the new Tamron 150-600 and Sigma 150-600 currently are the best reach / IQ for the money versus any other camera brand, but unfortunately not available for the k mount. So, I wait, in case something would change in the future. I pray for Ricoh to drop the price of the DA560 or redo a DFA600 f5.6, then I'd get a K-1 and a DFA600.
Wrestling with price / performance values with lenses over 300mm is something I've done enough already. I would keep looking at the DFA 150-450 as I have been impressed with its performance from what I've seen. I own the Sigma 500mm F/4.5 and is very good optically (I have plenty of examples to show this) but I wish my auto focus was better for birds in flight shots but I still get them. I would like to see Ricoh redo the 560mm F/5.6 and make it an F/4 with a 1/4X teleconverter specifically designed for that lens making it an 800mm F/5.6 if you want.

I have thrown an aftermarket teleconverter on the Sigma 500mm F/4.5 with very good results with the K-5 but not the K-3 because I haven't aligned the lens with the teleconverter to my camera yet. (Just something to keep in mind.) The resolution of the K-3 is so good that I just don't want to put the teleconverter on it.

As for my FF vote, it is of course very tempting to buy one but I think I will wait for a price drop.

My option isn't listed. I'm happy with my K5 but it's going on 5 years old. If or when it starts looking like it may be developing issues or if it fails, the K1 is something I will consider but I will always have the need for an aps-c format body regardless. It's nice to know that there is now a Pentax FF option to consider but along with the expense of a new body, there is going to be the expense of some new glass, too. I really hope to keep my current gear for another year or so. My 05 GMC truck is currently at 198K miles and this years big purchase be a new truck.

Will it be a more fuel-efficient model, or FF?

Very solid and thorough poll options Norm, good job!

Can't afford FF, only have one FF AF lens that is a 400 5.6, and a couple manual primes... to invest in the K-1 is to pay twice the listed price, because i'll have to get some more lenses. Can't even afford a K-1 to start with, so i'll say... I might get one in some 5-10 years.

Pretty much why I can't afford anything yet, either

I think it's a little confusing.

For me, the next "upgrade", is essentially the availability of the K1 - not when my K3 wears out.
I am buying a K1, as I contunue to use my K3 cameras at the same time.

I will continue to own APS-C Pentax dSLR cameras, so I have no plans to retire that format.

100% concurrent - especially if Pentax/Ricoh makes the logical choice of putting video in the APS-C body.
My thought exactly, and concurrently!

You have a nice setup, and those two new lenses definitely add plenty of new creative options. Should keep you busy for a ... little while

Crap. I can't participate in this poll as the following option is not available:

I currently own a GR but need the K1 as a backup. 😒

You should never store your cameras in the same room as your tripods, they do get talking ...

I couldn't have guessed the GR thing but, "I have some wierd EVF Sony camera that I can sell now that there is a Pentax Full Frame. For what I'll get for it, I can probably buy the K-1 and a 28-105." should have been an option.
