why no used k20d's?

None here on the Marketplace, and none on Fred Miranda's site either, save for the one I got (and one that had been listed but is apparently now pulled). And compared to all the other Nikon and Canon gear for sale, wow! Would you all reckon it's because there are so few Pentax users to begin with, or, everybody is so satisfied with the k20d they don't want to sell it?

Your second reason, I suspect. It's a good camera! When something "better" comes out, then you will see some used 20s on the market.

At the moment, the K20 is the best camera available from Pentax. When it becomes last years news (probably in a couple of years), then they will start hitting the used market.
For now, the only sellers will be people who have discovered that the Pentax is just not good enough for what they want to do, and are selling to raise money for a different brand name.

Yeah the K20D is so good that you have to buy it new for at least half a years time before some new gadget takes its place on the throne of AWESOMENESS!!!!

people will sell their K20D's cheap for two main reasons

either their is a problem with it, and for whatever reason they cant return it, so they try to hawk it

they stole it

those that dont liek it, and want another system, or need cash fast, are not going to really sell it to you for anything less than they paid (and in reality i wouldnt either, its a brand new camera!)

so.. i wouldnt even bother looking for "deals" on "used" K20D's

I'm keeping mine!

I have gone from K1000 to k100d (via a few P&S) and now upgaded to the K20d. I liked the specifications of the pentax. I learn more about it each time I use it, it is a camera that has the right 'feel' for me. I have handled some of the other brands, but keep coming back to the 20. I do not upgrade with every new model and feel that this is a camera that will be with me for some time to come.
When the K10 was released, I had itchy feet and wanted to get one, but didn't. Now I have the k20d, I am more than content to stay with it. So mine wont be up for sale

As an ex-K100D, ex-K10D and ex-K100D Super user, the K20D is by far the best of the pack. Definitely a big step up over the K10D. That's why those who have the K20D are holding on to theirs.

They have only been available for a few months so I wouldn't expect to find used ones.

I like my new K20d alot. even more than my K100d. You will probably have to pry it from my cold dead hands then make my wife a good offer on it Since she is afraid of it.
The few differences I like the most are the quick format of the SD card over the K100d, RAW button, Front E-Dial, Green Button, Mettering Mode Lever.
I only wish that the Battery Grip was a little cheaper than 130 bucks.

".......cold dead hands........." lol........there seems to be a lot of that going around!

It is too early to see people jumping ship, and it is a spectacular camera..........my wife and LBA will be restricting me from buying another body for some time!

I consider myself, despite some unintentional glitches in the transaction, to be very fortunate to have gotten one for $800.

Hi Ken,

2-3 days ago on Fred Miranda's site, a guy had all of his Pentax gear for sale; as I recall the k20d came w/ the add-on grip/battery pack and he was offering it for 985. It doesn't appear to be there any longer.
