since the camera is now completely dead, i can't see how it's one lens. i havent added a new lens to the lineup in months, and it now doesnt matter which lens i use, the camera is a paperweight.

any tricks you can suggest, id love to try...but i have a hunch this one is headed to a service guy

Sent it to Pentax in CO. you will get it back faster.

any thought on the ETA? have a trip to aruba in mid august....wondering if the 10 would be back, or if it's upgrade/rental territory

I recently read about someone getting their camea back from a service call in around 2 weeks.

And if it isn't back in time I would imagine that a K20D will start calling your name

So I know folks said to use Pentax in Denver...but the DC based service guy said I could drop it off, and its 10 business days usually.

Now, being based in NY, I am equal parts tempted to reach out to that company and see about their times. I just figure, if I go local, I may get it back faster......

of course, the DC guy having the fact that he's a Nikon repair shop gave me cause for pause
