K20D firmware update and Epson P3000 - does it work?

I am hesitant to update the firmware on my K20D to 1.01 in case the raw PEF/DNG files are unopenable on the Epson P3000.

Can anyone confirm that they DO in fact open properly on the P3000 after the K20D firmware update 1.01?

I have upgraded to the 1.01 firmware just because it was there but it has not made anything noticeably better for me. Supposedly the only fix is for some kind of hot pixel issue when using the 2s shutter delay. A problem I never saw on mine.
That said, I haven't had any problem using my Epson viewer. I use the PEF file format in camera. Photos look beautiful on the Epson screen.

Anyone else have any experience with this? Maybe with DNG after 1.01 update and the Epson 3000?
