What to do with an *ist DS and a K20D?

I have an old *ist DS and a K20D that I basically have not used for a number of years. I am thinking of getting rid of them; my identified options are to sell or donate them. Any thoughts on these options? Or is there some reason I should keep one or both of them?

I guess you could keep them just to add them to your collection, or for nostalgia. Otherwise selling or donating sounds good

I donated K-x ( with DAL18-55 + DA 50-200) and K-5 ( with Sigma DA 17-70 2.8-4.5 Macro Ver1 + Sigma DA 10-20 EX Ver 1) to younger members of my Family.
I sold K-7 , sold one of mine K10D ( better looking one), kept second K10D for its CCD sensor properties and screw AF drive on SDM lenses.
Will keep K-30 with trusty old Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5 Ver1 and set of AA always ready to go.
The Q and Q-s1 not going anywhere, MX-1 stays, K-01 as a classic will stay.
All the rest will get reviewed regularly, some will go eventually, some will stay forever, not to mention a number of lenses to go with them.
Some people may say that I am a bit crazy but hey, at my age, all goes , who cares.....

K10d is good to keep in the car with a WR lens, an emergency cam.Just check batteries from time to time.

you could take pictures with them?

I recently put together a kit of lenses I rarely use (mainly fully manual ones) in a bag with my old *istDL2. It now lives under my desk at work with a couple of 1GB memory cards and 2 sets of long shelf life NiMH AAs, and I take it out in lunchtimes if the mood takes me. In decent light it still takes a great photo, it's the person holding it that makes the picture.

K20D makes a good back-up and the DS ideal if you have a kid showing some interest.

I had my K10D converted to IR after I bought the K-5. It took lots of stunning photos since then. It's by far the best thing to do with aging body.

I don't know whether you have a spare or backup camera? I use my "old" K-5 primarily for experimenting with adapted-mount lenses. It's quite possible for some of these lenses to foul the mirror mechanism or damage the SDM contacts (I've had this happen), so I try them out for a while on my K-5 first to avoid any damage to my K-3. Also, there have been one or two shooting situations where I haven't wanted to risk taking my K-3, and it's been great to have a body I can use without worrying about potential damage...

Isn't the *istDS one of the two digital bodies that retained true TTL capability? If that's so and it's in full working order, I might be interested...

Such a shame. The K20D is such a nice camera. I gave mine to my son but maybe donating to a college or something. They could loan it out to students.

I would keep one for a backup, unless you already have or don't need/want one. I would then gift the other one. I gave my K10D (and a DA 18-55 AL) to my youngest granddaughter, for whom I also bought a K-01 (along with an A 50 ƒ2 that I gave her) a few years ago when she first expressed an interest in photography. She is now in her second year at an arts-centric high school following a photography based curriculum. And doing quite well I am proud to add.

Hmmm... I wonder just how much it would cost to have my aging body converted to IR . . .

I already have a backup camera. The IR idea sounds interesting.

Quite a while ago I recall people online talking about the particular qualities of the CCD sensor, such as in the *ist D, as opposed to the CMOS sensor. Anyone have any opinions on that?
