Finding serial number in EXIF

Hello,
Is it possible to retrieve the serial number from a K-3 from the EXIF data from it's RAW images?
I just had my K-3, DF-A 150-450, DA* 300, FA 50 1.4, 2 laptops, and my hard drives with 2 months of traveling pics on them stolen from my motorhome.
I stupidly didn't take down my serial numbers.

Sorry about your loss and the violation.

Yes, makernotes have two values. In ExifTool they are labeled SerialNumber and InternalSerialNumber.

Yes the EXIF data contains the camera's Serial Number. Use this link (Check Camera Shutter Count) to check the EXIF of a photo you took with your K-3 and you will see an entry called 'SerialNumber'. There's also another similar entry called 'InternalSerialNumber' which is not the one for the camera.

I'm sorry to hear about your gear getting stolen. I've had things stolen from me before and it boggles my mind how someone can do that. I hope it gets recovered and is in the condition you left it in.

It is unique to the camera, but is not the same as the number stamped on the ID plate for the body.

Oh I see I didn't know that, thanks. So the one that's visibly stamped on the body is SerialNumber.

Pentax lens and camera serial numbers are seven digits, correct?
I just called B&H to get the serial for the D FA 150-450 that was stolen and they gave me a thirteen digit number. The first two numbers are 44 just like one of my other Pentax lenses.
Is the SN all thirteen digits, or maybe the first seven?

Thanks max_pyne for posting the link to Lenstag - Protect your camera equipment, images and help make the world safer for photography on iOS, Android and the web.. Whenever I see a post about someone having gear stolen, I do as well. I have the serial numbers for all of my cameras, lenses and teleconverters listed with them. It's just a good idea, and really not at all difficult to do.

The physical S/N on a 150-450 is 7 digits. One I am using is older and starts with a 43.....

I ended up calling Ricoh Imaging to ask them about the thirteen digit serial. They said that the box shows a thirteen digit number and the first seven digits is the serial number. So I now have my K-3 and 150-450 lens serials and have reported them to the police.
