Not a a Peep out of Ricoh/Pentax on the timing or even possibility of the K3-2 Successor. That's the camera that I would love to have with my Pentax APSC optimized lenses. The K3 2 is a fantastic APSC camera with superb ergonomics, brilliant IQ, outstanding build and is a joy to shoot with. I am just wishing the successor has improved autofocus, slightly better high iSO performance and a tilt screen - 24 MP is enough for me. Any one have any insight on the possible release of the successor?
I thought this has already been discussed but I can't find that thread ... ??
Anyway, as I mentioned at "that" previous thread:
1. Improved AF (especially AF-C)
2. Improved low light performance (high ISO)
3. Keep the 24 MP sensor.
4. No gimmicks.

Until/if ever that option comes; why not use this red film? Many of us in Astronomy use it on our laptops, etc., while viewing.

Red screen is already an option on the K-70

so likely an option on the K-3 II successor too. I'm looking forward to whatever it is.. probably my next body upgrade unless the K-1 and lenses drop in price by then. Until then probably just sticking with the K-5 II unless the K-3 II really drops in price itself. I'd like to see improved DR and ISO handling..

Now being in the market for a crop body, after getting used to the K-1, I'd jump at a K-3 successor that had the same AF as the K-1 or at least the LED viewfinder overlay. That and/or an articulating rear LCD.

I would be happy with 24M pixels, improved ISO (at least decent to 6400) and wired tethering. I personally can't see a use for the GPS or built-in flash, and I don't even need video. Heck, after using the FLU card, I can't even imagine wanting the wireless. I just want an improved APS-C camera to go with my APS-C lenses.

Flu card sucks. Use a Mirrorless camera with good wifi integration a few times and see good wireless integration. Samsung nx series or Panasonic gx7 or later. I would love really good wireless.

agree, IMO, let RICOH take time on the camera body development, but give me a few more new wide angle FF / WR prime please!

All this said.. the K-70 showed up out of the blue.

The time between K-5 II and K-3 was minimal too.. will just have to wait and see.

It'll probably look like a baby K-1, stick with the same 24mp sensor and most of the same features as the K3II but add WiFi/NFC and flippy screen.

My K3 isn't even two years old yet and I intend to use it for at least as long as I did my K200D - five years.
