How do you ~safely~ store your D-LI90 batteries ?

So, how do ~you~ protect your D-LI90's ?

A little piece of gaffers tape over the end on mine.
This is also how they want them protected when flying.

The battery contacts are recessed so 2 batteries cannot short circuit each other. I store my extra batteries in a camera bag pocket and keep metal objects out of that pocket.

I just ordered a few of these small plastic boxes from Amazon, which I hope will work reasonably well - for 3 - for 5 - for 10

I am hoping they will fit the D-LI90 form factor reasonably well -- I am estimating that the length and height may work well, although the width of the container may be a bit on the sloppy slide. (?)

I use a nifty, 4 pocket, battery carrier when I am packing them around. If I am only carrying one or two then I use the same plastic caps that work so nicely on my older batteries for the K10D. When I'm not carrying them then I just set them on the shelf...totally unprotected.

I thought of using rubbers but did not want to explain that to the grandkids.

Oh well.

My D-Li90s are either in camera or clicked into the DBC90 charger.
I have never taken a loose battery or chargers on a trip because I take film cameras.

I took the Oly M43 to Grand Canyon along with the RB67 and the Oly ran out of battery half way through the trip.
I was using the M43 for indoor and family photos that I did not anticipate!

I have 4 extra DLI90 batteries... each stored in a small zip-locked plastic bag. I put sticker label inside each marked with date when it was last charged. I always have one (or two) of those batteries in my camera bag.

By the way, what was the latest/greatest Pentax dslr with pentaprism that used 4 of AA ?

Like my ist ds but newer.

Yes, I also had a *ist DS (my first DSLR), which used either 4 x 1.5 Volt AA cells (alkaline or rechargeable) or 2 x CR-3V Lithium packs. [I found the two CR-3V's pretty convenient, since the alkaline AA's didn't last too long, and the rechargeable AA's I had didn't like to hold their charge for very long -- the CR-3V's held their charge very well and provided enough juice for lotsa pix.]

I got months/charge out of a set of rechargeable Ray-O Vacs on the ist ds, but that is probably because I used it more like a film camera.
rather than how we tend to use a camera these days.

I have a 2 week trip soon to Australia/Taiwan , one thought is to take the ist ds and Pentax MX, plus the -M 40mm pancake plus the -M 28mm
That is a compact kit and spare batteries and chargers and spare film are not required, and AA batteries are available anywhere.

I store them in empty matchbox. Just pop open the box and there you go - fresh battery. Used batteries go into their own boxes marked with fitting label.

Nuh, you could buy an adapter that sits *inside* the compartment - I got one for my K-30, worked quite well.

Actually, having owned, for DSLR's, only the *ist DS, the K20D, and the K-3, I should probably keep my mouth shut about all the others...

No, when the K-S2 came out, I asked several times before I partially understood why the K-30/50 "trick" didn't work for the K-S2.
Now that I own a K-30, I finally understand it.
