I'm not sure that M "understands" my Pentax addiction - I mean hobby - nor my LBA - I mean practical need for additional optics, but we've held and been happy for 47 years and should make 50 easily, if our health holds. So I've got a great camera and a great wife. Could only be better if I bought a winning lottery ticket.

I've got my 50 in - July 9 of this year. Too much investment.

Besides, who would microwave my meals for me?

Now all I have to do is convince my wife that I need one.
Here's how it's done:

Yes Mrs Rupert bought me the K1 when my K5IIs was badly damaged......she has also bought me the cars I have wanted...the lenses, or most anything I want. I think it is because I am such a nice guy...but I could be wrong?

I've a taken pretty good care of her too...here she is when we had been married about 8 years.....so that would make her about 20 in this shot? Yeah, that's old Rupert peekin' out from behind my Mom....

And here she is on the left with our oldest son and his wife at my Moms 90th birthday party two weeks ago at age 70. So it works both ways! We take care of each other....and it seems to make life a lot easier!

She can't fool me...I know her hair is snow white like mine is now..but I will buy her all hair color she wants...or anything else if I can!
Regards!

When mrs. monochrome questioned the K-1 I calmly listed her recent redecorating projects, matching kitchen appliances and MINI Cooper. Then I pulled out my spreadsheet of gear sales.

Crickets.

Decorating doesn't count because I use the rooms. I can wash the dishes by hand if I want. The car is titled in her name - so don't hold THAT over her head. She's more interested in what I haven't sold than what I have sold.

I'm still explaining the K-1.

Thank you! We have managed the art of compromise for over 50 years.....not always without open warfare!

I am familiar with this syndrome. I believe it is caused by money.

Reminds me. I had a guy work for me that was a foreigner and he married a local girl. Christmas came along and he was unfamiliar with the custom so some of his co-workers advised him on a gift for his wife. Oil change and lube job for her car. The marriage didn't last a year.

Regards!
