Glad to see this thread still alive - surely there must be a fix, somewhere. But if one did find a suitable donor, does the panel think that one should attempt to desolder the old switch from the existing ribbon and replace in-situ, or just go ahead and replace the whole ribbon/switch assembly. The former means a high chance of disaster, given my cack-handed soldering technique, the latter means more disassembly than may be convenient. I've only gone so far as to pop the top off so far, which is no effort at all.
Where that ribbon goes, exactly, and how it terminates, I haven't wanted to check - so far. Is it an easy one to access?
