Red Pixel

After I download my photos (RAW) from my K100D and view them I have noticed that there is a red pixel in the same spot on each picture.
Is this a problem with the CCD? .
Does it require a new CCD?
I have Photoshop so I should be able to get rid of the red dot on present photos but a pain if it has to be done every time.

Sounds like a stuck pixel on the CCD. I do believe Pentax can map those out if you send it in for service. If it's under warranty, it might just be free but for shipping costs.

See this post.

If that doesn't work for you give Pixelfixer a look.

Features:
  • Remove hot pixels from raw files
  • Remove hot strips from raw files
  • Perform dark frame subtraction on raw files
  • Extract embedded JPEGs
  • Show number of shutter releases

Thank you
Russell
