On-sensor PDAF?

How much this makes K-70 better than K-S2? I know that the on-sensor PDAF on Sony a6000 doesn't work that well. Just curious, I have a K-S2 and a NEX-6 and I almost MF all the time.

The PDAF is only used in video mode, and it enables continuous AF. In regular live view performance is the same

My NX300 uses it quite well for mixed use, as does the EM1 apparently. This is Pentax' first use of it so future bodies will likely use the tech more fully.

The on-sensor PDAF of my NEX-6 seemed have not made focusing significantly faster when compared to the CDAF-only a5000 it replaced. I tested on the Sigma 19mm and 30mm DN Art lenses (which are the only autofocus E-mount lenses I have).

Agreed. When I had the NX300 I had similar views. The GX-7 Panasonic using Depth from Defocus was also quick and accurate but bodies without either DFD or PDAF on sensor have been slower and/or less accurate in my experience.
