Today's the Day - My K-3 II arrives!

I have wanted a K-3 for years now, and this week I finally ordered the K-3 II, using a gift certificate at B&H. It arrives this afternoon. It will be quite a step up from my K5, and will probably be my main camera for years and years. It's probably more camera than I need, but I am so excited.

I put my batteries on the chargers so I could have power and be ready to go when I un-box it.

This last year has been crazy with a move to a new house, so I have not been around much. Now I'm settled and I'm ready to get back out there shooting. My new house has a pond in the neighborhood, plus lots of nice walking areas. Stay tuned for lots of pictures.

Susan

Congrats! It's an awesome camera. The K-3's low light focus ability alone just blew me away. K-3 ii is even a greater camera.

I have a K-3II. It produces excellent images and the AF is great. Plus the pixel-shift resolution and built in GPS features, along with others, are really nice to have. You will notice the detail in images when using it. I had two K-5 cameras, they are really prominent performers for their time, and the K-3II brings the user into a noticeably
more advanced performance.

More congratulations. I moved from the K-50 to a K-3. What a difference.

After months of waiting for an announcement about a replacement I got fed up and ordered mine today to upgrade from my trusty old K100. Cannot wait until it arrives

The K3II maybe the best overall DSLR for the price based on the many features it has. It is essentially a mini K1 without the swivel screen. While I upgraded from K3II to K1, with the K3II you are not missing much from the K1.

WOW! So who needs a flash (I was very reticent about giving up my on-camera flash) when you can take such clear, sharp pictures in dim light? The picture of the small brown dog is a dark dog on a dark floor in a dim room. There is no retouch on this at all. JPG format, direct upload. Now to find out where the raw format on this is. I may shoot JPG for a while to get back in practice and then use the RAW button. Not sure yet.

Oh is this going to be FUN! Here's Remy.

Not so dark cat, Buddy.

Beau is patient with me.

No flash, no retouch. Used my trusty tank, the 100mm Macro.

Very nice pictures but that's just the beginning of your adventure. Wait a few months and you will be just amazed. The K-5 family of cameras were wonderful but the k-3 series is simply awesome. Congratulations on the new house and now new camera. We'll be looking forward to lots of outstanding photos.

Nice shots, you certainly have a fun set of models! But please check the AF micro-adjustments. Your K-3II appears to be backfocusing a bit with that lens -- looking at the lower photo is the easiest to see it since that is the sharpest shot. The carpet to the left of this patient model's nose and his neck are sharper than his face.
