I was not aware that hot pixels were a problem on the K10D?

Hot pixels are a fact of life on digital cameras. Some software will mask them during RAW conversion, some cameras will mask them during file processing.

Hot pixels are a transient problem with long exposures like these two are. When the sensor cools, they go away. It's not a permanent issue unless you do lots of long exposure work.

For example PixelFixer.. It's free, and it has support for the K10D and other Pentax cameras.

I have also heard that this can occur more or only when long exposures are run back to back and the sensor gets too over worked
