Any possibility of a 'K100' full frame prosumer body in the near future

As stated in the title; does anyone think Ricoh/Pentax will offer a K100 (or whatever numbering they'd have to call it) around a full frame sensor for around a $1000 USD?
I'd snap one up in a heartbeat as I just can't justify the K1 for my level of shooting/use and balance with my other expensive hobbies.

Thoughts?

In the near future? No. Nobody will do it. The best you can hope for is an old, discontinued model - maybe even second hand. In the long term, perhaps the $ will appreciate...

Man up and get the K-1

What would a full frame camera do for you that your present equipment does not?

I'm waiting for the same: a no nonsense, no-frills, no-nothing FF to accommodate my no-nonsense, no-frills fullframe lenses. Nothing more, nothing less.

I would stick with APSC if you don't need to upgrade. There is a better lens selection currently. Look at the K3ii or its upcoming replacement if you want to stay with Pentax..you should be able to get a reasonable price since it is discontinued.

Lacking that, I caved and bought a K-1 to use with my manual lenses while I wait for a K1000-D. I just don't use the frills

A basic FF Would be very attractive to me and maybe unique enough that it would sell quite well. Who else offers that? What would really interest me if Pentax could miniaturize a FF camera to the size of a K-R or better yet a ME Super I would be very interested in that. I would find that much easier to lug around.

The issue is, it isn't very attractive for Ricoh to offer it right now.

A 1000 dollar FF body would eat into both K-1 and K-3II sales. It completely breaks the tiered pricing model they have worked to develop.

I think, eventually, we'll get there. But not anytime soon..

What's the over/under on a new Porsche 911 with a clutch pedal and no electronic trimmings?

The appeal of full frame is simple; I can think about lens coverage and DOF like I have for the fist 25 years of taking pictures and not like the last 13. I don't have to think about how my 24mm primes is more like a 35mm in coverage but still has a huge DOF with just about everything sharp at F4 (exaggerating for effect) and looks more wide angle than a 35mm full frame would.

I guess I wait and have fun with what I have. I'm not complaining, was just wondering/speculating.

I believe what you are asking for is the Leica M10 that just came out. No frills FF. Cheers. Less features, more $$$.
