Email from Pentax Imaging USA's Product Manager.

Yvon,

I received word that my comments and quoting me won’t really be an issue. Feel free to quote me from the following…

I enjoyed using the chart, and found it easy and straightforward. I really liked that the chart itself folded up into an exact 45° angle, so I didn’t have to mount the chart in any special ways to achieve the proper p ositioning. If people follow the instructions you provide, they should be able to test and adjust their lens focus to their preference, saving those settings in the K20D.

Thanks for taking the time to create this handy tool.

Nice charts, Yvon.
I'll give it a try since I've been checking my lenses focus point.

Are these charts only for K20D? I think it should be ok with any Pentax DSLR right?

Thanks.

I think she references the K20D solely since it is the first Pentax DSLR to offer AF adjustments, so it's more useful for K20D owners.
While everyone else of course can check accuracy (or lack thereof) with this chart just as well.

I printed this card today and tested it this evening. It really works great, much better than the canon test chart that can be found in the net.

And my K7 kit lens was perfectly sharp at the default settings

The SMC 50 1:1,4 M lens is a bit out of focus (some 4mm at a distance of 40cm), but i am not sure or that is coursed by my glasses and bad eyeside of the lens itself.

I really have to order a split focus screen one of these days.

I've been around a while and never saw this thread or tool! It's great, especially now that I have a K20D.

Well timed bump.
