If i need to do a wet cleaning on a sensor, i send it in to the Nikon folk.

I have yet to need a wet clean on my istD or K10D.

I don't trust my self to do it, and if the tech makes a mistake i can get them to fix it.

Other that that, i use a blower and weekly during the horse show season.

Try to use the Pentax Imagesensor Kit O-ICK1. I had a similar stain on my sensor, and Yesterday a bought that kit. And with a few cleanings with that stick the sensor is again clean. It costs more than a rocket blower but is safe and is doing the job better. I understand that you don't lose the warranty if you use this kit, but i am not sure.
