A new hardware K70 with trial shots

My vintage K20D lately has developed some metering issue. Anyway I have just got a Pentax K70 a couple of days ago and did some quickie trial/test shots with FA28mm F:2.8. These are respectively F:4, F:3.5 and F:2.8 wide open. I cannot afford a new K1 and have to settle with a more affordable hardware. Please look at the exif as I did not do any pp on the jpg out the camera. I never knew that my TV remote is so filthy at all until now LOL.

I did some high iso shots and they looked impressive too

Here are the original with large file warning

The 3200 and 4000 ISO shots do look good.

I have the FA 28mm, and I think very highly of it. On APS-C it is still very useful as a semi-wide angle, or wide/normal, the same as the 43mm Limited on a film body. Using it with the K-70 for a scene or subject having more well-defined detail than the shots you've posted so far, would provide a better representation of what this camera and lens are capable of.

In case you are not already doing so, I always recommend using the "fine" sharpening in the custom image menu, for both "Bright" and "Natural" categories. I've been doing this for quite some time, and have found noticeable improvement over default. Lately I have seen some published reviews also recommending this.

Normally I do the pp with either Paint Shop Pro (with Windows) or GIMP (under Linux). I hardly ever did pp on the camera itself. K20D does not have it. Will try your way later on to see the effect. Maybe it is faster in social media output and for that I can see the rationale.
The workflow looks like this:
(i)Take a picture with the in camera pp,
(ii)pass to the cell via the Ricoh app and
(iii)send that over to either FB/Whatsapp/whatnots....
So basically there is the same workout as if it is through my Android cell

I did not do much lately until yesterday at a wet land area in north of Toronto. I could not get some wing span shot as the subject GBH refused to fly after 1 1/2 hours of waiting
Taken with A300mm F:4
