It really goes to show, technology can never be a replacement for a properly composed/exposed/conceptualised shot. K20D, K-7, K-1....are only as good as the person releasing the shutter.

I love mine. Now I admit freely I have a bit of a Heathcliff/Cathy relationship with it above iso 640 but it's probably my fourth or fifth child accounting for the human and the three cats. It's been an absolute star and a privilege to use that camera and its been a great ten years. I'm seriously thinking about the upgrade path nowadays. But a k3 is well out of my budget so I might settle for a k5ii. I'll definitely keep the K7 though as a second body. Maybe my daughter can put it to use when she's old enough. Though I might start her on a K1000 I have first.

I love the ergonomics of it. Compared to the K100D that I upgraded from.

K7 similar to K20D

If I'm right, the Pentax K7 was very similar to the K20D it replaced. The insides were almost the same, only the exterior was upgraded. I have taken some of my best pictures with my K20D over the years.

My home town! Yep, nothing wrong with the K-7 but I do enjoy the sensor upgrade on the K-3ii

See my earlier post in this thread (#30), but here is another infrared-converted K-7 shot:
