Using iphone as a field monitor on K-3

Anyone has hooked up the iphone 7 with K-3 as bigger monitor for photo reviewing after the shoot just took?
This would help me to find out the shoots are in focus or not on bigger monitor. Try to do it with out buying a flucard.
What cable and apps do require? I also have a apple lighting HDMI adapter to see if it needed.

AFAIK no phones or tablets allow input. You'll need to research Field Monitors to do this.

It would be convenient to turn an old phone or your current one into a field monitor...too convenient, apparently.

You might get away with a Mobi pro SD card. Using their smartphone software Keenai you get transfers that might be fast enough to check composition and focus. They seem to transfer faster than the flucard and it's automatic. Not too bad as standard SD cards either. Even work in my old *ist-DS :-). Definitely works in the K-3.

An actual 7" field monitor has the HDMI connection to go with your K-3.

you're going to need an hdmi capture device or an hdmi to rca converter and rca capture device, and i'm not aware of any compatible with iphones. even if you found one, you'd be better off just getting a cheap lcd viewfinder.

Smart Phone would be convenience with the size and touch screen function. Do not want to spend other $150 for the big monitor.
Flu or wifi SD card looks like to be my choice.

You can transfer data to your iPhone. You can transfer pictures with a cable.

I have FlashAir SD cards on both of my cameras for this. A bit slow with RAW and you need to keep phone really close to camera while downloading the shot, but handy when camera is on tripod in unconvinient position. Handheld it's a lot easier just zoom into the shot on camera's screen.

Would any tablet with a mini HDMI work?

Those are usually HDMI out, Theo, to display the tablet on a RV.

Thank you. I will have a look at that.

While I could just google field monitors I wanted a recommendation as there are so many out there.

clackers, do you have to use live view in order to see the image on your field monitor? I can't get the image on both the K-1 and the field monitor. Can you?
