Thanks glinda, and I enjoyed your "impressionist/pseudo-abstracts" ? as well!

To my eyes, your Takumar 28 seems to yield nicer than the M28 2.8, but I also see you have been using the latter a bit more...

Nice pictures either way!

Thanks CR. I haven't had either lens that long, and I've shot entirely different subject matter with them. So far, find the M slightly sharper, which surprised me. The M seems to desaturate blues, while the Tak exaggerates them - so much so I find I'm pulling back the blues a bit in PP. I guess I was more surprised by the performance of the M28. I knew the S-M-C Tak would be nice, since I also have an early Super Tak 28 that I love. The M28 was purchased on a whim when one came up at a nice price here on the Marketplace. It's fun to have choices.

Some dappled light in the back yard. I think it was the pattern of the light up the palm trunk that caught my eye, Pentax *istD S & DA 40mm f2.8 XS;

It's worked well on each of my bodies Paul, but it certainly seems to be going well on the *ist, and (I think) looks pretty cool on there as well. Makes a nice compact package. Was thinking last night your M28 should look pretty good on yours as well - is it up and running again?

Yes, it kind of does - the M28 is almost a "semi-pancake" and together with the D makes a compact little package. I own two *ist Ds, btw, one of which is a dedicated m42 body. That one had a very clouded/fogged VF, which thankfully cleared up after a week

On the trail again - S-M-C Tak 28/3.5 on *ist D:

@glinda: That's how one makes art! Multiple planes make you think about the picture. Good job.

@paulh: I must test my 24/2.8 or 135/2.5 with K100D finally. Maybe it's the old coating what makes that unique hue, not present with modern lenses.

Off the trail again! (K100D + Sigma 28-300)

I don't get that level of hyper-saturation from any of my other Taks. I find myself actually desaturating images from that lens (S-M-C Tak 28/3.5)! The blues are especially prevalent. I'd love to see your examples at any rate

New oak, from Mar. 2016. SMC Tak 55/1.8 on *ist D:

Love the blackjack oak colour and the pile of wood as well!

@paulh: This is 10Mpix K10/K-m CCD and Asahi Pentax 135/2.5 and Asahi Pentax 24/2.8.
The hue/tint is also here and it probably depends on the amount of the UV-V light present...? Must try that with K100D.

@glinda Who uses a bulky DSLR body and heavy glass... if you have an iPhone taking gorgeous HDR pictures with amazing bokeh...
It's more fun and it is your (not AI) pictures. The same with compasses. GPS works well but it's boring.
