Thanks glinda The M28/2.8 doesn't get rave reviews, but my copy far exceeded my expectations. It plays nicely with the old 6 mp bodies.

@Ivan lovely shot!

Fine photos both, I especially like the gold coloured dome and blue sky in the first, and the sunlit highlights on the dome and spire (copper ?) of the the tower in the foreground.

I noticed this caterpillar making its way over the petals of this geranium flower, and guessing it was heading for the nectar rich centre of the flower ran inside for a camera. Checking the results on the LCD screen on camera after several attempts at the first photo I realised I could do a lot better with a tripod. Happily the caterpillars progress was slow enough to allow me to set up and refocus on it eating out the centre of the flower, and then make its getaway down another petal. Fantastic work on this page lately!

Beware the Flare! Re-acquainting myself with an old Sigma 28-84 manual zoom I haven't used in a decade. *ist D:

K100d, m40/ 2.8

I wonder how much the image stabilization setting matters when I forget to change it for the next lens ?

Thanks glinda - the lens isn't what I'd call "great", or even "pretty good". It's not that sharp, some CAs, the built-in hood doesn't work too well, and colors are a bit washed out. But I guess you could say it has "character"

Probably not too much if the focal lengths are similar. If not, it could cause problems.
