Don't get the wrong idea - the place is right next to a busy main road on the right and a huge hole on the left, dug to store so-called low-level radioactive waste underground.

Posted on the pet thread as well but here as it was one of the very first photos with the *istD and the plastic Sigma 18-50mm kit lens that came with it. The Phantom rests.

After I got the K7 in 2009 the *istD saw only occcasional use. 10 years later the K7 was superseded by a KP but the *istD is out and active again. Obviously not my primary camera but used almost just for the sake of it. Triggered, in part, by this thread but overall by an interest in older cameras (including my Kodak folder). Besides, if I've obtained a strange old lens I'll test it first on the "D" (just in case!)

Good to hear! I have two, one for k-mount, the other is fulltime m42. They are both in my regular rotation, and I esp. enjoy using smaller primes with them. Case in point:
