Nothing special. Just a flowering shrub of the protea group.

The build quality of the 'A' lenses seems to have been less than the 'M' lenses.
The aperture ring sometimes stuck on the 'A' 50mm F/1.7 that was kitted with my "Super Program", so I
sometimes used the 'M' 50mm F/2 that had been kitted with my "ME/SE".
There was a repair thread on the A 50 1.7 aperture ring many years ago. Apparently its not an uncommon issue, especially on that lens.

My *IST DL came yesterday, but neither regular AA nor Lithium AA work good enough to take pictures. Any advice which batteries are good?

This picture was made with Nikon D1x 5MP Kodak sensor:
If you have an IKEA nearby, they have very good rechargeable AA batteries for a very good price. Their chargers are less impressive, but still decent.

*istD, Pentax-A 1:5.6 400mm. A positive of living on a flood prone property. Back in 2009. Today's flood waters are much higher than this. Where the pelicans and spoonbills are standing is still under a metre or more of water.
