I'm in the same boat. I'm not a fan of fantastic fairy images, but usually editing is necessary to get the photo closer to the look and feel of the actual experience, which in my opinion, is the goal of photography as art. I have no grievance against digital art work as I used to do plenty of it, but at some point an image goes from being a photo to painting.
