What Model and Brand are You using?

I use an old Vivitar 6000AF (Pentax dedicated) on my *ist DS. It works well

I admit to have not used it very extensively nor experimented with various camera settings, but in "P" mode at 200ASA it gives well exposed images at a variety of "macro" distances with an "A" lens, usually my Tamron Adaptall-2 90mm.

This is what I have, with the PT2D interface module for ttl. Like Kypfer said, I get 1 shot, well exposed images with the 18-55 kit lens or my SMC A 50mm F1.7.

Here's a picture taken with my K100D and SMC Pentax FA 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 of my Fujifilm X-T20 using a Fotodiox NIK-FX adapter to mount a Vivitar 19mm f/3.8 built with Nikon AI-S bayonet, with a Quantaray 62mm UV filter along for the ride. Camera company nomenclature sure is strange. The Fujifilm/Fotodiox/Vivitar/Nikon mount is still considered an illegal position in several southern states.

I just have one question. Why is there an ECU Pirates mascot on the flag out front?

You mean the Granbury High School Pirates mascot that ECU borrowed?

The CCD sensor (made by Kodak, I presume) was never a fast sensor, but even at 6.1mp it was sharp and warm and detailed. I sold my k-100D for about 145 bucks a couple of years ago and still think that CCD renders better than CMOS. Here's a picture from 2013--was going to pick up a good condition K-100D or K-10, but I'm committed to FF presently (K-1).

The sensor was made by Sony, as was the 10 mpx sensor used in the K10D. Even though I love the output from my K-5 CMOS sensor, I still prefer the old-school rendering of the CCD.

Thank you for the clarification Paul. My main use of CCD sensors was in the Leica M8 series. I owned 2 of those and then sold them as well to buy newer models and that CCD was made by Kodak to emulate Kodachrome and/or ektachrome film (it does!) At the time I divested myself of these 6.1 and 10.3 mp sensors, I did not understand there was more to digital photography than constant pixel upgrade (more is better). After using the medium for over a decade, I have come to appreciate the qualities of the CCD v. CMOS differences. Most of my CCD shots need little correction (if there is sufficient light as over ISO 1600 becomes too noisy for my tastes). In any event, I just ordered a low use Leica m8.2 because I missed the renderings of the CCD sensor-great forum thread though. I may post some of my favorite K-100 pics from time to time as they are quite sharp.
