Congrats - were the *ist D and grip listed here on the PF Marketplace? I was looking at that ad for a long time, asking myself if I needed a 3rd *ist D
. It's a quirky camera but I love it. I've gotten pretty adept at getting the CF card out fairly easily using a thumbnail.
I've not noticed any banding, though. What RAW editor are you using? I mostly rely on Rawtherapee with digiKam and Gimp (running Linux Mint). Enjoy your new toy!
No, bought it from Finnish second hand camera store. Big downside for me at PF market is that the shipping usually gets quite high.
Iīm using Darktable and Gimp on Ubuntu, usually no problem since nowadays Gimp is working 16-bit. My normal workflow is DNG in DT, export as 16-bit TIFF and make final tweaks and JPEG with Gimp. Banding issues came when TIF was loaded to DT and exported as 8-bit JPEG to be tweaked in Gimp, especially when lifting the shadows when dynamic range of camera is not too good.
Pretty refreshing anyway that old camera is so unforgiving
