My K110D doesn't have shake reduction either...if you don't count opting for higher shutter speeds when possible.

I love my *ist DS! It reminds me of my first DSLR, a K1000 super I never should have sold. I still find the 1-control-wheel interface very intuitive. Plus, I use an accessory TTL flash sometimes, no problems, and I have a Canon matte focus screen in there instead of the original. It is GREAT for manual focus, especially fast lenses. Here's one with a Tokina 90mm macro:
