It's more fun and it is your (not AI) pictures. The same with compasses. GPS works well but it's boring.

There is a lot to be said for analog ...

This tree ( standing dead yellow birch ) fell , in the wind yesterday .
A favorite for all kinds of birds and insects , been there for years . And something was nesting in it , squirrel , mouse , flying squirrel maybe ... don’t know ... I had taken a pic, a couple days before .

That's made a nice photo! - I've actually pulled my SMC version of that lens out to start walking round with. I always liked it.

I’ve been reading some local history of the area and found an account of an earlier settler returning in the 1930s to find the rive rbanks stripped, streams sluggish and polluted, and utility and ugliness dominating the landscape. Things haven’t changed much in many of the public spaces here since then. Feeling particularly down one day I forced myself to go for a walk in some pretty ordinar yweather and think I was primed to notice these things more than usual. I decided to take a series of photos of things that I would usually pass up because they were marked, marred, verging on the banal, or just butt-ugly. Looking at them on the bigger screen at home I thought they looked interesting enough to process and post.I’ve previously posted some of these on the B&W thread, *istDSand DA XS 40mm f2.8;

Thanks! It's a handy lens for closeups - I need to take mine out for a spin again soon.

I decided to take a series of photos of things that I would usually pass up because they were marked, marred, verging on the banal, or just butt-ugly.

I find that type of subject matter ideal for b/w. Nice job.

rjbrett just noticed your post on some scenes I'm guessing Brisbane. Anyway. The pictures look so familiar then I realised this must be a generic and familiar sites around large human habitats. Great images though. Gives you something to think about if your a decision maker. I'm not one those though. Thanks for sharing.
