Unless you were in the house at the time! We do get strong storms here in south east Queensland, and had three nights of them this week with hundreds of thousands of lightning strikes recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology. One of them hit the local library where my sister works, and they had to replace their fire alarm panel the next day. Unseasonable for autumn here, but not that unusual at other times of the year.

On losing my finest friend of 17 years several months ago I looked up the local animal shelter online through the week to see how I could donate left over unopened bags of cat bikkies. I'm afraid my hand slipped on the mouse and I found myself on the adoption page, and came home the next day with a new friend, Pentax *istD S & SMC DFA 50mm f2.8 Macro;

We have a bit more quiet storms around here, one summer there was maybe 3 days with thunders and that summer was crazy

Thanks - and nice pics both of them. There's something soothing in the comfort of friends

He's settling in well, and seems bright and personable enough, likes a little attention without being demanding, and little chats and sitting nearby while I am doing things. When we first got home I had never seen a cat so hungry, attacking his dinner and bikkies with a ferocious appetite. I was a little worried I'd have to start rationing the bikkies but he's slowed down a bit now. The folk at the shelter put him at about 11 years old, and said he''d been picked up off the street by the council, and he's still a bit under weight. I think he might have been out there a while but did once have a home, as simple household things like the tv or the washing machine startle him for a minute till he remembers how these things work. He is quite house trained.

My Camelia has been flowering for over a week, and I finally got to photographing a flower yesterday, with a new to me DA 70 and Kenko AC +2 close up filter on my *istDS. While I bought this variety because it will do well in the shade it does grow towards the light, so I have to turn the pot every now and then to keep it's shape regular;
