All the information in this forum concerning suitable batteries for the k100d super where more than helpful .
For the time being the Ladda 2450 mah from IKEA are more than enough for my shooting habits and the camera is working as should .
Image as is .

There is something special to your fa 77 pics, glinda. Hard to describe, some sort ob butterscotchiness, if that makes any sense. And I like how you use that lens.

Thanks glinda. They are used to support the hull of boats when it needs a new painting or repair or when barnacles need to be removed.

I'll bet they are just gushing over it, too!
Thanks everyone for supporting my spontaneous, impulsive and totally unnecessary DS purchase. But who doesn't love a bargain?

Question for you DS owners out there. I installed the latest firmware v. 2.02, which allows auto ISO on the camera. Is it possible to set an ISO range? I'm assuming the default setting range would be 200-3200. Thanks in advance!

Paul I'm on 2.02 and the range is selectable from a list in the C menu (first page), ISO "Corction in Auto", and options includes ISO 200 - 400, 200 -800, 200 -1600, & 200 - 3200. Mine is set to 200 - 800, but I usually set ISO manually as I shoot. No idea what the default is.

Sadly/luckily I've had the same experience, several times: Best score was a K10d, with the claim of "faulty, look at last picture". And it was the rear of screen of the camera, with the over exposed area's all blotchy, as per normal.... So I jumped on it and got it for less than lens value.

I didn't see a version of Exiftool for Linux, other than a command-line one
I use linux, and that's how I've check all of mine. I think the highest shutter count I've got on any of my 'cheap' pentaxs is 30,000. The rest have all been around 5-10,000. Of course, they all work perfectly. If you want I can check up the exact command I use.

In Linux:

exiftool {PEF or JPG file path} | grep 'Shutter Count'

and you get a number like this:
Shutter Count : 12345

In Windows - should be the same but use findstr instead of grep.

Once I used exiftool to bulk correct focal length information in hundreds of images - I used a 24mm manual lens but photographed with 28mm setting.
It's also useful to get some interesting statistics like "what's your favourite focal length" etc.
