Took the *istD S out for a quick run with my Pentax SMC DA 3.5-5.6 18-55 AL WR. I'm starting to wonder if the lack of shutter count is maybe a software issue, I run Linux, and have not come across this before: It's not a big deal.

Anyway, shot raw, used GwenView to save as a jpg, and as expected, great colours.

I just ran exiftool on an *istD PEF and there does not appear to be any record of the shutter count. There is on the DNGs from my KP but nothing recorded in the *istD PEF. So maybe the same?

Thank you!

Just a couple of updates. Taken with the Olympus T8 ring flash. Hence the dark sky! The OM flash systems work fine on Pentax cameras although using manual or relying on the flash's "auto" setting.

Cool shots, guys! I haven't been too active recently, absorbed by the work around our new (albeit temporary) farm. The shot below (captured a couple of hours ago) says it all... K100D + SMC 135/2.5 f/4.

Is this the K mount 55/1.8 or the Takumar? Either way I think they were the same optically, and beautiful lenses...
