Is CCD sensors are still good ?

The K200D is my first Pentax camera. It has a CCD matrix. The limitations are known: ISO max 400, but preferably 100. But this matrix gives fanatastic colors even JPEG

Yes, lots of people love CCD colours.
But CMOS has better ISO and more resolution, and it is good for video. That is why today very few cameras have CCD

If you enjoy it, definitely use it! Good photo, nicely captured sunset!

I love my K200D. I bought a used one to complement my K-50 in situations where it is useful to have two cameras. I knew before purchasing it that it had a noisier sensor and less dynamic range, but surprisingly I found the images from the K200D more pleasing to my eyes than the images from the K-50. I don't know if that has anything to do with the fact that one is CCD and the other is CMOS. One would have to test a lot of different cameras to arrive at that conclusion. But there is more to good looking images than ISO performance and pixel count. My K200D has convinced me of that.

A nice photo that shows off CCD colour rendering well

The CCD-sensor cameras like your K200D (and my Samsung GX10, a re-branded K10D) tend to produce contrasty, vibrant, colour-saturated images, and I find myself doing very little to the colours or tone-curve in post.

The CMOS-sensor Pentax cameras produce quite flat-looking RAW images, though the files do respond extremely well to post-processing...

I like the older Sony 10mp CCD sensor in the K10D. This is the same sensor that was in my old Sony A200 DSLR. At ISO 100, it was all kinds of magic. My K-50 doesn't even come close. But yeah. It was basically limited to ISO 800 at the most. Everything past that was almost useless. My K-50 can easily be used to ISO 12800. I do miss my old Sony A200, but the ISO advantages of the K-50 outweigh it.

Thanks Na Horuk
I also use the wonderful CMOS matrix in K-5IIs.
K200 will not do good photo at night. But with day light and ISO100 max ISO200 is very good.
Here K200D JPEG without postprocess. Good contrast, saturation and skin colors

Yes, older cameras with CCD sensors still have their uses and are actively used by many people on this forum. Just take a look at the images on the 'K10D Club' and '6mp Club' threads to see why. I love the colors I get with my K10D, but I certainly wouldn't try to use it in low light situations. That's what my newer bodies are for.

Searched CCD after watching a Snappiness video, and came across this thread in the results, read through and decided to correct one inaccuracy.

And, Nooooope.
CMOS replace CCD for one single reason, CMOS is SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper to manufacture.

Exactly the same reason why Rolling Shutter replaced Global Shutter on many cameras.

And in fact, at the time of the first CMOS sensors, about 8 to 10 years before the first one appeared for Stills cameras, CMOS sensors were universally hated for TV and Film production because they were very noisy. Mostly they still are, but the colour science inside the bodies has gotten better able to reduce that noise without loosing detail - look up Panasonic 3D noise reduction for some side note sillyness.

Today, very few cameras have either CCD or Global Shutter because manufacturers like profit more then customers like paying for quality. The greater ISO now available came well after the impacts of money.

I liked my K10D a lot. its CCD sensor had great colours and pleasant grain at the highest ISO settings. Too bad its shutter broke so I had to donate it for parts.
