My new K200D with Pentax 18-250mm

I received my new Pentax K200D with kit lens and the Pentax 18-250mm lens. This is my first dslr, moving up from a Canon S2IS point and shoot. Lots to learn with this camera but I'm impressed with the difference in image quality, it's like I'm in this whole new world.

Below are some of my first shots with the K200D and the 18-250mm lens. Not the best but as I'm playing around learning I didn't think these came out too bad.

Just an interesting observation, I am also moving up from Canon S3 IS to Pentax K200D. Have had mine for 2 1/2weeks till now. Really enjoyed the camera. Will post some picture soon.

I moved up from a Panasonic FZ-20, with which I was able to get a lot of nice pics.

I just purchased a K200D with kit lens and am learning too. Takes beautiful pictures with much more detail and much less noise than the old Panasonic.

Awesome pics by the way!

hi
I had an S1 and S3IS before I bought my K100DS. Absolutely love it..... S3's low light performance is what made me buy a dSLR otherwise a great camera..... Hope you enjoy your new gadget.....
btw, barn photo is excellent.....

What is it about all the people upgrading from Canon P&S to the K200D? I'm in the same boat. I have had Canon P&S for years and don't think anybody makes finer P&S Digcams. But the Pentax DSLR's make thier Consumer DSLR bodies feel like toys.

Thanks for your comments. The barn shot was taken on my grandmother's ranch in Touchet Washington. It was hand held with no polarizing filter. I took the first photo in a normal standing position, then I took a second photo (this one) when I was kneeling down. This one with the lower perspective was much better.

Nice shots, Damon, and interesting links. I see you're sailing out of Kemah. I'm in Clearlake. Be sure to send us some pictures of your travels!
