I find that more and more I want to take some video and because it's a DSLR, my K-S2's can only view video in live view.
I was looking at LCD viewfinders, but the Zacuto ones cost almost as much as my camera.
Then I found this on Amazon
UK
TARION New TR-V1 LCD Display Viewfinder Universal View: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo
US
amazon.com : TARION TR-V1 Universal LCD Display View Finder Viewfinder for 3.0?tag=pentaxforums-20&" 3.2" Screen DSLR Canon 500D 550D 600D 650D 700D 60D 70D 5D MarkII 5D MarkIII 6D 7D 7D2 Nikon D90 D7000 D7 100D 5000D 5100D 5200D 5300D 3100D 3200D 3300D 600D 610D 300D 70

It's less the £50, I might just give it a try.

Anyone else tried similar?

I'm using an earlier version of this on my IR-converted K-7:

Hoodman Live View Kit for all DSLR Cameras - HLVKIT

It's a lot more expensive and probably more rigid than the Tarion; but if the Tarion had been around when I needed it three years ago, I would certainly have considered it. I did try other similar devices when I purchased my Hoodman, but I didn't consider them adequate in terms of workmanship and construction. My Hoodman has had constant use since I bought it, and I would recommend it as one of the best available solutions to this issue.

Dont waste your money, go over to ebay and spendU$ 4.....get the Canon model,it lines up better...the one that screws into the tripod thread(dont worry the thread is in the screw)
Ive been using these for years on Q and other non VF cameras...2.8x magnification works great.

This one is as cheap as chips, but clearly not as easy to mount, etc, as the Tarion you linked to. Could be worth buying just to see how you get on with the concept before spending more?

I have a Tarion that looks like this one and it works quite well. It's very clear and covers the screen well and is comfortable to use.

On the K-3 it partly covers the buttons closest to the screen and makes it quite fiddly to reach the "left" directional button. I don't know how that will work out on the K-S2.

The eye piece is attached by magnet to the bit that is screwed into the tripod thread. This magnet is quite strong on mine. It takes some force to pull it off.
